Amazing Computer Tricks

Open a notepad and type '.LOG' (Case Sensitive) as the first line of the file.

Save and close the file.

Double-click the file to open it and notice that Notepad appends the current date and time to the end of the file and places the cursor on the next line.

Type your notes and then save and close the file.

Each time you open the file, Notepad repeats the process, appending the time and date to the end of the file and placing the cursor below it.

It simply serves as a virtual diary!

Trick 3

Start movie in paint

First start a movie in any player.

Then open Paint.

Now, in the player when the movie is being played, press "Print screen" button on your key board.

Now, Press Ctrl+v in Paint

Leave the movie player open and don't minimize it.

Open Paint now and see the movie in the Paint!

Trick 4

Cleaning Ur RAM

U may recognize that your system gets slower and slower when playing and working a lot with your pc. That's cause your RAM is full of remaining progress pieces u do not need any more.

So create a new text file on your desktop and call it .. "RAMcleaner" or something...

Type

FreeMem=Space(64000000)

in this file and save it as RAMcleaner.vbs [ You may choose the "All Files" option when u save it ]

Run the file and ur RAM may be cleaned :>

Of course u can edit the code in the file for a greater "cleaning-progress".

FreeMem=Space(128000000)

Just try it out.....

Trick 5

Pop a banner each time windows boots:

To pop a banner which can contain any message you want to display just before a user is going to log on.

Follow the following steps:

[1] first of all, go to "start' - "run".

[2] type "regedit" in the bar. Click on the "ok" button.

[3] a new window will open named "registry editor". In the left panal of the "registry editor", go to the key: hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windowsnt\currentversion\winlogon

[4] now right click on the right panel, choose "new",

select "string value". A new "string value" will be created.

[5] right click on it and choose "rename". Type "legalnoticecaption" to "rename" it.

[6] right click on that "string value" and choose "modify". On the "value data:" area, type the text or value that you want to see in the menu bar of the banner.

[7] now create yet another new "string value" in the right panal and "rename" it by "legalnoticetext".

[8] right click on that "string value" and choose "modify". On the "value data:" part, type the message you want to display each time windows boots.

[9] now, close the "registry editor".

[10] "restart" your computer.

Now, after the "boot screen" and just before the "welcome screen" a new banner will be opened which contains your message and an "ok" button. The users have to click on the "ok" button to proceed.

Trick 6

Trick to Show your name after time in taskbar...

This is a trick to add up your name in place of AM and PM beside time and make yourself to feel proud among your group of friends.

Its simple

Start -> Control Pannel -> Regional and Language option -> Customize (beside English US) -> Go to TIME tab -> Change AM symbol and PM symbol from AM and PM to your name -> Apply -> Ok ...

Is it changed? Might be not ...Now go to time in taskbar and Double Click it to open "Date and time property" ...Look place where time changes in digital form i.e. 02:47:52 AM , click to arrow to change the AM or PM by selecting and press arrow. It will Show your name or name that was entered by u, Apply -> OK and be HAPPY

9/11 was Q33N ....Open your Notepad in your computer and type the flight

number i.e Q33N... Increase the Font Size to 72, Change the Font to

Wingdings. U will be amazed by the findings.

Hide your drives

To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer.

Go to start->run. Type regedit. Now go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Now in the right pane create a new DWORD item and name it NoDrives (it is case sensitive). Now modify its value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal) .Now restart your computer. So, now when you click on My Computer, no drives will be shown (all gone...). To enable display of drives in My Computer, simply delete this DWORD item that you created. Again restart your computer. You can now see all the drives again. Magic........

Trick 10

How Long Has Your System Been Running?

Here's how you verify system up-time:

Click Start | Run and type cmd to open a command prompt.

At the prompt, type systeminfo

Scroll down the list of information to the line that says System Up Time.

This will tell you in days, hours, minutes and seconds how long the system has been up.

Note that this command only works in XP Pro, not in XP Home. You can, however, type net statistics workstation at the prompt in Home. The first line will tell you the day and time that the system came online.

Trick 11

Turn Off your PC 1000 Times faster

Go to Task Manager as u know u will get it by Ctrl + Alt + Delete = Task Manager

On Shutdown Tab Press Ctrl Key Hold it And Click on Turn Off. Your PC Will Turn Off In 2 Seconds.
