Taunton FD - March 2014 - E5 alone to a basement smoke detector sounding in a home as called in by a central station - when the central station called back to report a additional smoke detector sounding on the first floor, the dispatcher "struck a box" - Engine 1, Engine 3, Snorkel, Rescue, and Car 2 also responded. The incident was a plugged wood stove pipe. Engine 5 handled it, along with a fan from Rescue 1.

Taunton FD - March 2014

Central Station - maybe E1 + Snorkel + Rescue + Car 2 - (Car 2 is the officer in charge of all of the on duty firefighters - probably a "Deputy Chief")

Weir Station - Engine 3 + ?

Oakland Station - Engine 5

East Taunton Station - ? Engine 9

All calls are paged out on the main channel - each station has an individual tone set apparently

Ambulance calls are typically handled by 1 fire truck and 1 AMR ambulance

"Unit" seems to be the designator for the fire officers portable radios - such as - "Unit 5" is the officer of Engine 5 when he using his portable radio - when he uses the mobile radio In the fire truck he is "Engine 5"
