This discussion focuses mostly on Eastern Massachusetts

Question - can the county mutual aid fire freqs be used statewide?

Answer - looking at the FCC database, this looks like a doable concept

Plymouth County mutual aid channels - 483.475 - 483.10 - 483.775 -

483.20 - 483.925

Other Massachusetts users of the Plymouth County mutual aid chnnels -

483.475 Billerica FD primary channel - 483.10 Boxford (who has 4 UHF

freq pairs but only 5 residents in town) - 483.775 no other users -

483.20 Boston FD ("tac" feeq) - 483.925 no other users

District 5 / 14 fire mutual aid channel - 460.1375

Other users of 460.1375 - Wrentham Water Dept data system (throw them

the ell off the feeq) - West Springfield (possibly was a PD link freq

of some sort)

District 6 fire/ems mutual aid channel - 460.0375

Other users of 460.0375 - Norwell FD (?backup channel to 453.175R?) -

Springfield PD

Conclusion - if every UHF fire radio in Massachusetts has all of the

UHF fire/mutual aid channels - this could be a very good thing - even

just using the infrastructure (repeater stations) that exist now

I think the police are trying to accomplish something along the same

lines by putting up more 470.7875 repeater sites.
