State TRS on Cape Cod

June 2014

Looking at the Cape TRS again - this is what the FCC ULS is telling me -

There is a Capewide system with 14 freqs at 10 sites - (the same 14

freqs are licensed at each of the 10 sites)

The Truro site on the Capewide system has 3 extra channels licensed

The Brewster site and the Wellfleet site on the Capewide system also

have 859.8875 licensed (an extra channel)

There is a different / extra site at Wellfleet with 5 different / extra freqs

858.2375 R is licensed as a conventional repeater at the Clay Hill

site in Barnstable. I wonder if that is intended as a emergency backup

countywide channel? I wonder if the extra Wellfleet site is intended

to be some sort of emergency backup system also?

Any of that make any sense to anyone?

Bottom line - This all looks like a 10 site 14 freq countywide

synchronized simulcast system with a couple of extra channels thrown

in to enhance capacity in some areas.

(I know we have discussed this in the past. Please forgive if I am

glossing over any details that you have already told me about. I am

kinda focusing just on the FCC ULS info here)
