House Fire - 3 April 2011

2256 - report of a structure fire at 100 Holdenwood Rd

2257 - pager tone set transmitted - 1 second high tone followed by 3

second low tone - "box alarm" announced for the incident - (I never

heard this done before - usually it is ordered by the OIC as he

responds - this time it was done before the OIC got on the air)

2259 - Eng 4 is on - request hydrant locations - double

2259 - dispatcher reports hydrants at 30 and 143

2259 - caller at 121 sees fire at Coolidge Residence - per dispatcher

2300 - dispatcher reports that Lincoln Eng and Sudbury Eng are also

responding to the call on the "first alarm"

2300 - dispatcher reports that Concord Police are at the scene with

fire from the side of the house, unknown if anyone home - (Concord has

a combined police/fire 911 Center with 2 dispatchers on duty)

2301 - Sudbury dispatcher asks Concord dispatcher if Sudbury Eng 3

should cover or go to the fire - to the fire per OIC or someone

2301 - dispatcher says that PD reports everyone has evacuated the

house, no one is in the house

2302 - Lincoln Eng 2 signs on

2303 - Eng 4 tells Eng 3 to grab the hydrant and tells Ldr 1 to pass E4

2304 - Sudbury Eng 3 responding

2304 - Eng 4 at scene, fire showing ?B side

2304 - dispatcher echos "fire showing B Bravo side"

2304 - Eng 4 says "D Delta" side - (lets name all 4 sides so they

rhyme - B C D G)

2304 - Eng 4 to Ldr 1, pull into the driveway

2306 - Eng 4 to Eng 3, run a line inside after getting the hydrant,

looks like a chimney fire getting into the roof

2307 - Lincoln Eng 3 at scene and requests orders - tools and paks

2309 - Eng 3 at scene (with hydrant line I guess)

2309 - 400 to Command, I accessed the basement, no extension'

2309 - Eng 3 is now Command (maybe C3 from E3)

2309 - Hydrant to 3 Pump - standby Eric - ready for water? - standby

2310 - charge line (someone - some line)

2312 - car 3 at scene - ??? - (probably was Sudbury Eng 3) - (16

minute response time ?) - [ Sudbury Eng 3 should have come from the

North Sudbury Fire Station ]

2315 - Engine 4 to Engine 4's Pump, charge the line to inside

2316 - 400 to Ldr 1, fire coming out?

2317 - dispatcher reports 1 guy at Station 2 (off duty Concord

firefighter) - no guys at Sta 1

2317 - OIC requests mutual aid engines to both stations and "detail

one more unit to scene"

2320 - Sta 2 now has 3 people, will bring 1 Eng to scene - Acton Eng

will move to Concord Sta 2 - Bedford Eng will move to Concord Sta 1

2320 - Car 2 will respond - Captain ODonnell will respond as Acting Chief

2322 - Car 2 responding

"Ladder 1 to Ladder 103" - ??????

2324 - Eng 4 responding (staffed by offduty Concord men I presume)

2324 - Acton Eng on the way to Sta 2

2328 - under control

2328 - Car 2 at scene

2340 - A1 at scene (Concord FD BLS ambulance) - probably staffed by

off duty Concord FFs
