BAPERN 3 (470.7875 R) is a system wide channel reserved for specific and relevant law enforcement notifications that are of interest beyond a local district
There are 22 simulcast sites and 32 receive sites - (map does show some receive sites as being distinct from simulcast sites but it is not possible to ID the sites easily from the map)
A chase that leaves Waltham would require the Waltham units to switch from Waltham main Channel to BAP 8 and then to BAP 3 - depending on the direction of travel I suppose - they might go to BAP 7 or BAP 9, and then to BAP 3 - or maybe never go to BAP 3
All agencies (dispatchers) are required to monitor BAP 3 and their District Channel
BAP 3 rollcalls are held on Mondays around 1030 AM - 1 District is tested per week
District Channel rollcalls are held twice per month - 1 scheduled and 1 random
The District Channel is recommended for Slot 2 in all radios
Emergency button activation shall cause the radio to revert to Channel 1
