I Walk With You: Kalin & Radley

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMqVKPkJHK6Lo9haCfvAEEdG72iKNYyr7

A third fanmix, focusing on various songs I love for these two. Some just don't quite fit the verse but must be acknowledged anyway. This time, many Rockapella songs got on the mix. They are lovely!

Come My Way by Rockapella

Radley trying to convince Kalin to trust him during Crash Town. It's a cute song, but the various references to butter don't seem to fit the platonic meaning I would intend.

King and Lionheart by Of Monsters and Men

Radley and Kalin muse on the saga of Crash Town and their part in it. Who is the king and who is the lionheart?

Flower of Hell by AmaLee

Introduced to me by Autumn Hazel Scarlet13. This could be either Kalin or Radley trying to assure the other that he's a good person, although I associate it most with Kalin trying to tell Radley that after he sinks into despair in the mines (which are often called Hell in the Japanese).

Hold Me Now by Red

Kalin is emotionally struggling again and pleads for Radley to help him through it.

One Last Breath by Creed

Kalin continues his pleas. His mental and emotional problems can't just go away, and he needs kindness and understanding.

I Walk With You by Rockapella

This beautiful, sweet song only doesn't fit because it clearly seems to be talking about a romantic couple with the repeated "my love" line. But it's just an amazing "I'll be there for you" song that fits Kalin and Radley's healthy post-Crash Town relationship so perfectly. Radley sings it in response to Kalin's pleas.

A Change in My Life by Rockapella

Well, technically this version doesn't have all the Rockapella members from their original version, but this one has some of them. I really wanted a version of this song with Sean Altman singing lead, and this was the one I turned up. Kalin and Radley celebrate how much better their lives are with each other.

My Funny Friend and Me by Sting

An adorable song about two unique friends. Kalin sings it about how Radley has helped him so much. It only doesn't fit because of the line about the big and little images in the sky. Kalin and Radley are the same size. But Kalin means it in a symbolic way, seeing Radley as shining brighter than himself.

My Home by Rockapella

Kalin and Radley ponder what makes a home and decide it's their bond. I've loved this song for years as a friendship song, in spite of the "my dear" line. Aside from that, it could definitely be friendship.

You'll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins

Kalin and Radley have a very unusual bond that many don't understand, but that's fine, because they know it's something special.

Something to Believe In by Linda Eder

A sweet song of celebration and finding a special person. It certainly resonates with Kalin and Radley, who celebrate their bond.

If I Die Young by The Band Perry

Suggested by XenoEmblemFTW. Radley is forced to fight Lawton to the death in the Duel Monsters world to save everyone else and he realizes this is very likely it for him. He talks sadly about it to Kalin. This heartbreaking and unusual song fits all too well, and even the line about pearls fits, as Xeno and I both think Radley has pearls in his earrings.

For Good by Kurt Hugo Schneider and Nick Pitera

Suggested by XenoEmblemFTW. Radley and Kalin continue their sad goodbye, reflecting on the difference they've made in each other's lives.

Everything I Do, I Do It For You by Bryan Adams

Radley's final Goodbye to Kalin as he sacrifices himself for Kalin and the others.

I'll Hear Your Voice by Rockapella

A heartbreaking song of loss, one mourning the other during a point of thinking him dead. Most likely it's Kalin to Radley after Radley's sacrifice, with the more skeptical feeling that the dead person can't really be there all the time.

Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men

This song has always sounded like one person dead while the other can't deal with it. It probably best fits a scenario where Radley was blasted into another dimension and appeared dead for several weeks, while Kalin struggled to cope and really couldn't. That one usage of "her" kept me from adding the song to any of the mixes, but I finally decided to anyway. It's so perfect, even with the line of them playing as children, since I do have Kalin and Radley having met once as kids.

You're Gone by Diamond Rio

Kalin continues to struggle, and thinks of how Radley helped him to heal so much from his mental and emotional problems.

Come Home to Me by Ernie Halter

Kalin continues to mourn Radley and can't accept that him coming home is impossible.

I Will Always Return (Finale) by Bryan Adams

For years I've loved the long version of this song and I wanted more than once to include it on one of my fanmixes. But it's clearly not about a platonic relationship and even seems a little suggestive, so it would not work. This version, on the other hand, I just discovered and it's absolutely perfect! (I need to watch the movie it's from sometime.) Radley is coming home to Kalin, even from death. He has been restored to life and he can't wait to get back to his friend.

My Sacrifice by Creed

Suggested by Azalea542. Radley is home and greeting Kalin. They discuss what happened and that now they're together again, as they should be.

Together Forever by Rick Astley

Kalin celebrates Radley's return and asserts they will be together forever. It's such a beautiful song, but that one line about "it's true love we're making" certainly puts one in mind of the "making love" expression which certainly isn't platonic. But I decided that the line wouldn't have to be taken that way. I really wanted a sweet, sweet song to end the mix on and this is so perfect aside from that line.
