Rusty Carson — No. 546

Russell “Rusty” Carson, 54, of Jonesboro passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2014, at his residence. He was Iota Theta Zeta No. 546.

Rusty was born on March 9, 1960, in Jonesboro to Bill and Martha Wood Carson. He lived in Jonesboro and Little Rock throughout his life, and he was a honor graduate in the Jonesboro High School class of 1978.

After high school he attended Arkansas State University on scholarship, and he he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. While attending ASU he was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.After college he went on to worked as an accountant for Colson Casters, LA Darling and Thomas and Betts. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and playing poker. He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. The love and compassion he had for his family will be missed but never forgotten. In addition to being survived by his parents, he leaves behind a wife, Lisa Ainsworth Carson of Little Rock; a daughter, Madelyn Carson of Jonesboro; two brothers, Steve Carson (Carla) and Brad Carson (Rhonda Clifton) all of Jonesboro; four nephews and three nieces; and a host of other family and friends. A memorial service was held Sunday in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with the ev. Hal Hinckley officiating. Burial was private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Jonesboro High School class of 1978.
