Al Robbins — Iota Theta 73

Albert Hayden Robbins, 75, of Bellevue, Wash., Iota Theta Zeta No. 73, passed away June 4, 2013, according to an article in the Clay County (Ark.) Times-Democrat.

He was born on April 18, 1938, in Piggott and was the son of the late Ruth Naomi Robbins and John Widney Robbins.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Linnea Robbins, of Bellevue; a son, David Robbins of Bellevue; a daughter, Leslie Robbins of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother; two sisters; and numerous relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mars Nixon Robbins.He was devoted to his faith, family and country. He enjoyed his Arkansas roots, returning in recent years for his college and Piggott Class of 1956 reunions. At Arkansas State University he was a charter member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and graduated in 1961. He served his country in the United States Army, 1st Infantry Division stationed at Fort Riley, Kan., reaching the rank of captain.After his military service, he met his future wife in San Francisco. They raised their two children in Anchorage and Bellevue. In Bellevue he was a member of Newport Covenant Church.

A military ceremony was commemorated at Tahoma in Kent, Wash. on June 24 with honors. A celebration of his life was held at the Robbins’ home following.
