Welcome to Hymmetry! This website is a work in progress, so far containing a collection of lyrics from various sources - some of them with music displayed on these webpages and others with tunes linked. They span 4 decades and cover various topics and occasions in the light of Bible passages. I have long been struck by reminders in Scripture to sing a new song to the Lord, and this has encouraged me to have a go at producing fresh words while leaving others to supply music - which they have graciously and skilfully done. I have often benefited from the wisdom of speakers, teachers and friends as well as editors - to all of whom I am extremely grateful.
This hymn-crafting experience has deepened my appreciation of and delight in the Word of God more than I can say. If any of the lines and verses are more satisfying than others, it may well be because they have come as answers to my prayers when I was stuck for words. There have been insights and discoveries along the way which I never expected and believe are down to God helping me out - as I am sure others who follow similar pursuits would recognise as a shared experience. I have been very gradually adding to the Hymmetry website, in case any of these songs can be useful to someone else.
A few items from Hymmetry, Jubilate and Praise! have now been put together in a small booklet of which I am hoping to give further details soon. I do apologise for not being proficient enough technologically to handle feedback or offer interaction via FaceBook etc, but I am happy to correspond by email (address on the Permissions page). Comments and suggestions can be very valuable, and corrections are essential where I may have been misleading others.
