Meet the Intermediate-Newcomer Chair - Bruce Lang

Bruce graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1990.  After working in Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions, he began a career in real estate development

In 2012, his Aunt needed someone to be a dummy for her bridge game.   She taught him Stayman and transfers and he played 4 hands.   Intrigued by this game, he downloaded Bridge Baron on his IPAD and played 10 hands a day for a month.   After that he was hooked.   He began to take some lessons and set on his quest to master bridge.   In 2013, he won his first Regional pairs game and Swiss team.   He has won more Bracket II KOs than he can remember, and was once second in the championship bracket beating Meckstroth and Rodwell in the semi-finals.

Bruce's top bridge accomplishments include a sixth overall finish in the NABC Fast Pairs, and also placing in the overalls in the Kaplan Blue Ribbon Pairs, the Wernher Pairs and the NAP.  In 4 years, he has earned 2,800 masterpoints.

Bruce has taught beginner and advanced lesson at the JCC in Cherry Hill, NJ and currently teaches at 3 country clubs in Florida.

Bruce has been I/N Chairman for Unit 141 for the past 3 years and has run ten 0-500 Sectional Team Games, with 25-60 teams participating.
