Bracketed teams – what's that?

You may have noticed that this year's schedule contains many more bracketed team events than formerly. Here's how they work:

• • When entries are complete, the directors divide the teams into brackets according to total masterpoints. The ideal bracket size is eight, but there may be some variation depending on field size and distribution.

  • Within each bracket, each team plays every other team.

  • Points are awarded within each bracket. At this regional, the three top teams in each bracket will win gold points.
