The 2016 Cincinnati Flying Pig Regional is now history. We thank you for playing this week, and invite you back on June 6-11 for the 2017 edition of the Flying Pig Regional. Bring a friend or three! The more - the merrier!
If you enjoyed our tournament, please let us know. If you have ideas about how to make it better, please get us your suggestions.
We have a number of people to thank. First and foremost let’s all recognize the Flying Pig Regional Tournament Committee: Mike Lipp and Reeta Brendamour (Prize Desk), Marilyn Prosise, Joanne Earls and Lorna Davis (Partnerships), Joyce Tedrick (Hospitality), Pam Campbell (Treasurer), Margaret Young and Nancy Luetge (Pro AM Pairs), Jane Duncan and Barb Levinson (Supplies), Steve Moese (Daily Bulletin). These volunteers invest many hours before and during the tournament to make all its moving parts mesh smoothly. We also thank the many Unit 124 members who help with transportation and logistics for all the materials used in the tournament. This event is the result of your hard work and volunteering spirit. Thanks you for making this week fun for all.
We also recognize and thank our ACBL Tournament Director Team: Mike Roberts (DIC), Jacqueline Merkel, Tim Crank, John Nichols, and Bradley Bartol. You deal with all the last minute issues in large games with unpredictable demand and make the impossible seem routine. Thanks for your leadership and governance on behalf of all the players.
Finally let’s recognize the many young caddies who helped keep the team games moving smoothly. They did their job reliably and accurately. See them in the pages of the tournament bulletins.
Looking forward the next area Tournament is the Summer Getaway Sectional in Hebron Kentucky. Here is your invitation from the Tournament Committee:
“As you wend your way home from another successful Flying Pig, turn your thoughts to spending July 15-17 in northern Kentucky at the Summer Getaway Sectional. Consisting of both morning and afternoon sessions of Open Pairs, NLM Pairs, Compact KOs and Swiss Teams, this third annual tournament is held at the Doubletree Hotel at CVG airport and promises outstanding hospitality and a never ending candy dish. Mornings will include a free coffee hour. At 5:30 on Friday participants will be treated to homemade pies, shrimp, beer, soft drinks, wine and cheese. On Saturday at 5:30 players can enjoy homemade cakes, beef sliders, beer, wine, and soft drinks. Partners will be guaranteed up until 15 minutes before game time. What with free parking, too, who could be anywhere else on July 15th?”
