Elven Arrows

Recently i watched a great animated movie called Dragon Nest, based on a Chinese MMO. it was good and i really liked how the Elves can enchant their arrows and give them some really cool effects. I have made my own variation for others to use. Have Fun.

"Elven Arrows are imbued with the magic of ancient Elven Society. It is an art-form as well as a magical one but alas, it is a dying art as other magics and advancements is warfare have begun to make them obsolete."

It is the arrowhead that is actually enchanted, due to the chances of the shaft breaking. Each Arrowhead contain the ability to use almost any enchantment and can hold its power without a shaft for only 3 days before it has to be recharged. Only those with a Willpower Score of 2 or higher can use these enchanted items. It takes one Free Action to call upon an enchantment. no more than 20 Elven Arrows can be held at one time

All arrows can be returned to their owner; so long as the shaft has not been broken; by the user concentrating for one Minor Action.

Also, They grant a +1 bonus to all attack rolls if being fired by anyone with a 2+ Willpower. Elves receive a +2 bonus due to the unique magical connection of the enchantments. when your Willpower becomes 5 or more, the bonus is increased by another +1.

BASIC EFFECTS: Only one effect may be called upon at any given time

    • BLAST: by charging for one entire round, the arrow will deal an extra +1D6 of damage
    • TRUE-FLIGHT: The arrow can automatically hit but this negates any possibility of Stunts
    • VOLLEY: You launch one arrow and it splits into many tiny ones and they hit an area that is 4yardsx4yards wide. everyone within that area will take the damage, one attack roll against every DEF in the area
    • HOMING: if the arrow misses, the caster can take a Major Action every turn to try and hit the target again. you can only retry a number of times equal to your Willpower
    • BREAKER: This arrow will not only deal normal damage, but a successful hit will reduce the targets AR by 2 points. this can be used multiple times on the same target to reduce their AR to 0
    • TWIN/TRIPLE SHOT: You can split the one arrow into 2 or 3, hitting up to 3 targets within 5 yards of each other.
    • ELEMENT: you can add one of the following elements to the arrow, dealing an extra +2 damage of that element type *Poison and Spirit will always be penetrating damage
      • Fire
      • Frost
      • Lightning
      • Rock
      • Physical
      • Arcane
      • Holy/Divine
      • Poison*
      • Spirit*

ADVANCED EFFECTS: Only if you have a Willpower of 5 or higher, you can use these stronger magical enchantments:

    • ELEMENT BURST: as Element above, but the element type will burst forth from the arrow, dealing 1d6 damage* to all targets within 2 yards of the first. *Poison and Spirit are still penetrating
    • PHASING: The arrow can pass through any and all materials, including armor. Making it unblockable and dealing Penetrating damage. Only a Magical Barrier or Effect can block this attack. The Attack Roll is still made normally, and so the target has a chance to dodge it.
    • AGONY: The arrow will embed itself into the target, making them cry out in agony. if they do not pass a TN 15 Willpower (Self-Discipline) Test, they are subdued with pain and can only take a Minor Action until after 3 rounds, or they remove the arrow (TN 11 Strength (Might) Test)
    • DUAL EFFECTS: Only if you have a Willpower of 5 or higher: you can add a second effect to the first and potentially be more awesome (You cannot have 2 advanced effects on one arrow, only 2 Basic or one Basic and one advanced.
