1807. May 22nd. William Clay and J. Webb Weston trustees of 3 messuages No's 16,17,18 in Great Queen Street No 18 being a brewery. Property in Pembridge, Souldern and Turvey. (Ref.- Herefordshire Archives J38/4/1).

1843. April 2nd. Baptised. Charlotte Eliza Clay daughter of John Frederick Clay and his wife Charlotte at Hereford. 

1846. Sept. 4th. Baptised. Thomas Clay son of George  Clay and Elizabeth his wife at Ledbury. Herefordshire.

1849. March 14th. Two men went to the Crown and Septre pub at Ledbury and tried to sell the landlady some bacon they said they had bought it from Clay's in Bye Street. In Court Elizabeth Clay said "I keep a shop and a public house in Bye Street. Ledbury. I never sold bacon to the prisoners". - Due to lack of evidence the case was dismissed. (Worcester Chronicle).

1850. An auction of various goods will take place on the 19th and 20th of February at The Brewery Inn. Bye Street. Ledbury. Late property of Mr George Clay. (Hereford Times Newspaper).

1850. June 10th. Insolvent Debtor case to be heard at the County Court. George Clay the younger formely of Upton - upon - Severn. Worcestershire Coal Dealer then later of the Brewery Inn. Bye Street. Ledbury retailer of Beer, Cider and Tobacco etc. (Hereford Times Newspaper).

George Hollis Clay late of Aston in the county of Hereford clerk a bachelor who died 29th May 1887 at Great Kimble in the county of Buckingham was granted to the Rev. Edward Keating Clay of Great Kimble clerk his brother and next of kin. ( Ref.- The National Probate Calendar).
