1688. May. Buckinghamsire Militia. Thomas Clay of the 13th Foot recorded as buried in Aylesbury Parish Register. (Ref.- Militia in Buckinghamshire 1660 - 1745 by Ian F.W.Becket). - Note may have been from elsewhere as Regiment was billeted there.

1753. April 6th. Mr Clay aged upwards of 90  died at Derby formely a considerable Grazier in Buckinghamshire had been married to one wife 57 years who died 5 years since. (Ref.- Derby Mercury page 2).

1882. May 27th. Cricket Match. Monks Risborough v Princes Risborough. Clay batted well. (Bucks Herald Newspaper).

1883. Rev. Edward Keating Clay of Great Kimble mentioned as being included in a Bundle of Old Wills. (Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies Ref.- D.PC/274/4).

1887. Sept. 22nd. The Admin of the Rev. George Hollis Clay late of Aston in the county of Hereford clerk a bachelor who died 29th May 1887 at Great Kimble in the county of Buckinghamshire was granted to the Rev. Edward Keating Clay of Great Kimble clerk, brother and next of kin. (Ref.- The National Probate Calendar).

1890. Will of Mary Briggs of Denham spinster leaves bequests to her sister Elizabeth Clay. (London Metropolitan Archives Ref.- ACC/538/2nddep/4883).

1896. May16th. Monks Risborough. On Saturday Grace Clay the oldest person in the parish died at the age of 94. Till recently she had been hale, hearty and hard working. She was much respected in the village living a good life. (Bucks Herald Newspaper).
