ALSO, A LITTLE BIRDIE TOLD ME THAT PETER’S BIRTHDAY IS MARCH 12TH!! LET’S REVERSE ROLES AND PERFORM FOR HIM AT THE START OF HIS CONCERT WITH….WHAT ELSE?......“HAPPY BIRTHDAY.”

OTHER NEWS…

Trimming of trees is underway at the perimeter of the Brookridge property behind the garden and continuing down to the Pinebrook Blvd. ramp.

A plan is in place to add some plantings along the side of the pool (opposite from the tennis court) amongst the large rocks.

Our paperwork has been submitted to obtain this summer’s pool permit. We will again conform to whatever rules the Westchester County Health Department establish during the continuing pandemic.

We now have a sign-up sheet for tennis/pickleball court reservations hanging on one of the gazebo posts. Please use new system to reserve your time slot in advance of using the court.

We’ve had some encouraging news regarding our conversion to condo efforts. Our attorney has finally gotten approval from the NYS Attorney General‘s office of the paperwork necessary to move forward on grieving our property taxes as a condo community. There are a number of administrative steps yet to be taken, so no celebration yet, but cross your fingers that there are no additional hiccups that get in the way.

Lastly, the police were called to our premises Monday evening, March 8th, because the residents of Unit 6 discovered they had been burglarized upon returning from a week-long vacation. They were not sure when the burglary occurred but all electronic devices (computers, cameras, tv’s, etc.) were taken. Entry was made through the back door. The police advised that there had been an attempted break-in near Brookridge on March 6th (on Sommerset and Winding Ridge Roads) but the home had an alarm system which foiled the break-in. Unit 6 has now installed an alarm system. Obviously, an alarm system is a great deterrent, but if you don’t have one, please make sure your front and back doors are locked and that you keep a light on in your home while you are away. Please note that before this incident, there were no break-ins at Brookridge for over 20 years.

Finally, we received an update from the City regarding the redesign and repaving of Quaker Ridge Rd. It’s a bit old but attached for your information.

Looking forward to better and better weather as Spring (and we) emerge after a frigid winter season!

Best regards, Leslie Molinoff, Secretary, on behalf of the Brookridge Board
