In my tradition we have a deep understanding of the healing power of our cultural traditions. Our songs dances and ceremonies hold a immense value in the journey of overcoming alcoholism. Through these traditions we reconnect with our ancestors, finding solace and guidance in their wisdom. The rhythms of our traditional songs and movements of our dances create a sacred space where healing can take place. It is within this space that we find strength, support, and a sense of belonging. Embracing our traditions allows us to heal not only ourselves but also our community.

"American Indian History: Boarding Schools"
This Article explains how the government controlled boarding schools, their goal was to have native americans to abandon their native identity. Boarding schools were able to do this by cutting native students hair, not allowing them to speak their native language. Students were forced to do manual labor as a "half day program" smaller boarding schools begin to shut their doors, while larger boarding schools begin to expand their schools.

¨Drunk Town¨
In this article I read about Alcoholism in Gallup NM. A few decades ago Gallup was ranked number one nationally in having alcohol-related deaths. Alcohol was a huge problem, many people would drink themselves unconscious. Police would find people laying in open fields, ditches, arroyos or on the side of roads. Police were tasked with saving people and bringing them to what was called the Drunk tank. Many people turned their lives around and now are trying to help their community with alcoholism.
