Eureka Music Interview
Fia Pavia-Higel & Adam Kahn
Eureka Music is a local music store in Eureka, MO. Since 2001, they have been providing musical instruments and music lessons. They sell name-brand guitars, orchestra instruments, band instruments, and much more. This is our interview with Lawrence Trokey, the owner of Eureka Music Store.
Q: Hello, this is Fia and Adam from The Whistler. We are doing an article on local businesses here in Eureka. Would you mind answering a few quick questions?
A: Of course!
Q: Fantastic! What got you interested in music?
A; When I was 28 I decided to pick up an instrument, and from there I just fell in love with it.
Q: What is the process like for owning a business let alone a store?
A: It is involved. It starts by having an idea and a plan. You have to understand how to run the business. Next, there is all the legal stuff. Also, finding a place to have a store. It was easy to figure out what to sell because we already knew what to sell.
Q: How many instruments do you get in for repair a day?
A: Sometimes we will have one, sometimes 2 or three. It kind of depends. Normally during Christmas, people need to repair their guitar strings and maybe some Christmas gifts. During the school year, people are getting their band and orchestra instruments.
Q: What is your advice for people who are just starting music?
A: There is a lot of different stuff to know. For a musician, it is important that they are as good as they wanna be. Once they feel like they have reached their goal, they will look for opportunities in a band or ensemble or something. You take up those opportunities and make a living.
END: Thank you for your time!
Have you ever gotten an instrument of some sort from Eureka Music? If you ever need to, you should consider it! They have fantastic service!
