Toys for Tots

This past December we had a Toys for Tots donation. Some backstory on Toys for Tots is that it's an organization run by the Marine Forces.

Toys for Tots takes donations from other people and gives them to kids who won't wake up to presents on Christmas morning, and a fun fact about Toys for Tots is that this organization began in 1947.  So take a look at how LaSalle did with our donations and what our students think about this program.

We asked 7th-grade NJHS members what they thought would be the most popular toy brought in, and...

Hailey Davenport said: "I think the most common toy that will be brought in will be Barbies or Legos."

Eden Whatley said: "I agree, barbies will most likely be the most common thing brought in."

Meriel McManemy said: "I think Hot Wheels and Barbies will be the most donated toy."

"What are the NJHS members doing for the production of Toys for Tots?"

Hailey Davenport said: "We hung up posters around the school to promote donations for Toys for Tots, and I am also bringing in toys to donate as well. "

Eden Whatley said: "We are making videos on the  announcements about Toys for Tots."

Meriel McManemy said: " The members of NJHS are hanging posters and I am going to bring in Toys to donate as well."

"What toys would you recommend others bring in to donate?

Hailey Davenport said: " Something small that is easy for kids to play with and easy to carry around with them."

Eden Whatley and Meriel McManemy said:  "Anything that is newly bought and anything kids would enjoy playing with."

The Winning classes:

The winners from each grade level were:

 6th Grade: Mrs. DeClue's class

7th Grade: Tie between Mrs Wasielewski & Mrs. Regan's class

8th Grade: Mr. Carpenter's class.

Congratulations to these winning classes! I hope the

winners enjoyed their hot chocolate!

The Outcome of Toys for Tots

This year's Toys for Tots donation drive was an amazing success!

LSMS donated a record-high achievement of about 300 toys!

Mrs Danner and other members of this organization couldn't have asked for a better outcome.

Every person who donated helped less fortunate children wake up to presents on Christmas morning.

Thank you humans of LaSalle.
