Spotlight on

Eureka History

Mr. Giesing's Ac Lab used their time during 2nd quarter to research and collect items representing Eureka's history. In collaboration with the Eureka Historical Society, students curated multiple bookcases showcasing original photographs and other historical items.

After being on display at LSMS and hosting an open house with over 50 visitors, the bookcases will be moved around to various Eureka businesses to further inform the community of Eureka's history.

In addition, members of the group including Tessa Jerina, Sahan Santhanam, Maddie Laughlin, and Mr. Giesing presented their project to the Rockwood School Board at their meeting on February 22nd. Dr. Colgren reported "Our School Board was extremely complimentary of this project and the work our students did." And Ms. Forrest, who was in the audience, told us that the presentation "awed and inspired the Board, and all of us in attendance, as they presented what is possible with a little time and a lot of passion. Congratulations to all!"
