All employees are required to participate in scheduled emergency drills, including fire, lockdown, and evacuation exercises. Employees must follow all building-specific safety protocols as outlined by school administration and district procedures.
Employees must avoid any behavior that may jeopardize the safety of others. Conduct that is threatening, intimidating, harassing, or coercive is strictly prohibited. This includes the misuse of district resources—such as email, internet, or communication systems—to harass, stalk, or threaten others.
Any individual found to have engaged in violent or threatening conduct, or to have violated any portion of this policy, will be subject to immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Employees must immediately report any direct or indirect threats, actual acts of violence, or suspicious individuals or activities to a supervisor and/or the Human Resources Department. Additionally, employees must notify Human Resources if they have obtained a protective or restraining order that includes the workplace as a protected area.
The District will thoroughly investigate all reported threats, acts of violence, or related concerns. Confidentiality will be maintained to the greatest extent possible. No retaliatory action will be taken against employees who, in good faith, report threats, violence, or safety issues
The District is committed to supporting employees impacted by intimate partner violence. Threats arising from abusive personal relationships are treated with the same seriousness as other threats or acts of violence. Employees are encouraged to promptly report any related safety concerns, and the District will provide appropriate support and resources.
Employees are encouraged to bring workplace disputes or concerns to the attention of their immediate supervisor or the Human Resources Department before issues escalate. Employees will not face disciplinary action for raising legitimate safety or conflict concerns. This approach is intended to foster open communication and timely resolution of workplace challenges.
In accordance with Board of Education policy, electronic surveillance devices may be used in school buildings and on school grounds for safety and security purposes. Employees should be aware that all areas may be subject to video monitoring as part of the District’s commitment to maintaining a secure environment for staff, students, and visitors.
