Types of Employees

Employees are classified based on position, certification, and contractual agreements. 

These classifications include:

• Certified Staff (e.g., teachers, counselors, administrators)

• Non-Certified Staff (e.g., paraprofessionals, custodians, clerical)

• Full-Time and Part-Time

• Leave Replacement or Long-Term Substitute

• Exempt and Non-Exempt (as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act)

Probationary Period

New employees are subject to a probationary period as outlined the contract or collective bargaining agreement. During this time, performance and compatibility with district standards are assessed.
