Beautiful Fireworks

As July 4th approaches us, one of my favorite activities of the day is watching the beautiful fireworks in the sky. Fireworks are exciting and something your whole family can enjoy! Watch below and get ready to make fireworks of your own!

Amazing right? Ready to make your own fireworks? Great! We are going to start with paint. Use whatever colors you want. Mix each paint color with a little water to make it less thick and more watery.

Your background paper should be a dark color to represent the night sky. A dark blue or black would work best. Drip a little of the mixed paint onto the paper and then using a straw (cut in half to make it shorter), blow through the straw in different directions. See how different amounts of air will change the way the paint moves.

Don't worry if it doesn't come out how you planned. Remember fireworks are not perfect so have fun and fill your paper with colorful explosions!
