We made it to your last week of First Grade! This week's project is one of my favorite ones. We are going to make fish with a surprise! When we show our family our fish, they will look like this:
But wait!!! When we open them, ahhhh!!!
How cool is that? Ready to learn how to make this? The first step is folding our paper.
Take a piece of paper and hold it vertically. Fold the paper in half by folding it up.
Now take the top and fold it down.
Then it should look like this:
Ready to start drawing your fish? Do this in pencil first. Draw the top of the fish on the top half of the paper. It looks like the beginning of a rainbow. Do not have your line touch the flap.
Draw the bottom of the fish on the bottom.
Now draw the fish's tail.
We are now ready to draw a mouth. Draw a top lip and a bottom lip.
Only draw the next step if you want to. The next step is to draw the design on the top and bottom of the fish.
Now draw one eye.
Next draw lines that come from the top of the body to the bottom. Then draw lines on the tail. All of these lines can be straight or wavy.
Now its time to open up your paper.
Draw a line from the top lip to the bottom. Also draw a line from the top of the tail to the bottom.
Time to connect our lines! Draw lines on the body connecting the top and bottom. Then draw lines on the tail to fill in the open space.
