Alphabet Paintings

As you continue learning about the Alphabet in your class, it is a great time to turn what you learned into art! The first activity you should do is practice writing the alphabet in all lower case letters. Take a piece of paper and write the alphabet using a pencil (that way you can erase if you make a mistake).

Now that you are an alphabet expert, it is time to turn the alphabet into a beautiful piece of art! Take a piece of paper and draw 4 horizontal lines (from side to side) and 4 vertical lines (from top to bottom). Please see finished example below to help you. You should have 25 boxes for the 25 letters. But wait...aren't there 26 letters in the alphabet? Yes! You should write 1 letter in each box (in pencil first) except for the letters "h" and "i." Put these letters in the same box to create the secret message "hi!"

After you have written all 26 letters in pencil, trace them with craypas and paint each box with watercolors. If you don't have craypas or paint, use whatever materials you have at home.

When you are finished with the project, have your other family members look for the secret message!
