Clay Animals

This week we are going to sculpt animals out of clay. It can be any animal you want - real or imaginary. To make your animal, use any kind of clay you have such as model magic or play dough. If you do not have any clay at home, you can draw or paint your animal.

We are going to make our animals in proportion. What that means is we need to look at each part of the animal's body in relation to the other parts. For example, let's say we are sculpting a dog. If we make a head the size of a golf ball, are we also going to make the body the size of a golf ball? No, we will not. The body should be bigger than the head right? So we need to make the body larger than the head. Make sure you add details such as stripes or spots on the body. Here are some examples of more clay animals:
