Mark Milton Baker
My Grandad is Mark Milton Baker and this biography will share the untold stories of his life so far.
Early Life
Mark Milton Baker was born in 1956 in Auckland, New Zealand. His parents were really poor when Mark was born but in 1963 that had changed, his parents had started saving up money from the four jobs his parents had worked. But it wasn't all for nothing.
Marks dad then had enough money to buy a dairy/local shop and never really had to worry about money after the dairy had been set up and they employed three workers.
When Mark was 12 years of age he became interested in dirt bikes and started looking for any side jobs to start saving up for his very first dirt bike. He started off with mowing friends lawns then moving on to the neighbours. After a few months, he wanted more money so he started charging extra for their weeds to be cut and the bushes to be trimed if they wanted.
Marks First Race
When Mark had turned 13 he had enough money to buy a little starter dirt bike so he did. After two months of riding dirt bikes in his free time he began wanting to race but he needed a better bike which meant more money needed. He went to his dad and asked if he could work in his dairy, he agreed. Mark worked every day except for the weekends and started making $200 per month. After six months of working in his dad's dairy he bought his first good dirt bike.
When he turned 14 he started going to dirt bike tracks and learnt how to jump of ramps and be comfortable on his dirt bike while going at high speeds. He then entered a competition and had one month to train. For the whole month he rode his bike every chance he had.
His first race… the time had come for Mark's first race. There were 20 people competing in the race. Mark didn't win the race but he had alot of fun, crashed twice and finished 6th which was pretty impressive after having two crashes.
Years Later…
When Mark was 16 he had just gotten his licence and since he still worked in his dad's dairy he had lots of money saved up to get his first car. Mark was always ready to work he worked hard at a young age and had heaps of money. My family respects him for the hard work he did at a young age. He gave our family a good name in the 60s and that is what he was respected for in our family.
When mark was 16 he was often very bored. He ended up getting interested in birds witch lead to him bird breading in his 20s. He still loved to ride dirt bikes and would ride them every week. When he was 17 he went to a dirt bike track in Australia and met a girl who he found very attractive. Her name was Gracy. Mark and Gracy began dating and seemed to like each other alot.
Divorce
Mark and Gracy gave birth to my mother when Mark was 25. They then got married 2 years later and had a decent marriage until 20 years later. When Mark was 45 his wife wanted a divorce. Mark was heart broken and still thinks about Gracy often. Mark started doing his hobbies alot more because he wanted to get Gracy of his mind. He stopped riding dirt bikes because of his health conditions. He got alot more birds and started breeding them now he has 8 parrots and 12 other birds.
Conclusion
He is now very lonely has no one to check up on him since family is so far away from him. My family respects him for all the hard work and the achievements he made at a young age. They also respect him for how kind, mature and wise he is. He has recently just turned 56 and our family video called him to sing happy birthday and tell him how much we love him.
