Whakapapa Biography
-finding who we are, where we come from, and recovering forgotten stories from our whakapapa-.
Titsu Niccoli Lupan began his life in 1918 on the 20th of December, in Adel, Romania. He was born to a wealthy family of 6. His strict father was a herbalist/botanist and head professor at Bucharest University meanwhile his gentle but stubborn mother was also a botanist. He had plenty of servants that taught him various languages, some of which were German, French, Russian, Romanian, Italian, English, and Hungarian. Titsu had 3 siblings, one sister, and two brothers, his brothers were Corri and Rely. Sadly, Corri died when he was young of Tuberculosis (Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by infection with the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis). Titsu’s sister unfortunately was severely disabled which caused her to have the mind of a 7-year-old, she had to keep living with the family until she was forty and was transported to an almshouse.

Titsu started his education at primary school. After about six years there Titsu went to Intermediate and studied physics and engineering where he understood concepts fairly quickly. In 1930 he built a motor engine from scratch that fully worked and started. Then in 1934, he went to Bucharest University where he became a top student. He later moved to England to focus on his future
In 1936 when Titsu was 18 he met his wife who was 21. In 1944 they married. When the war broke out, Titsu didn’t fight because he was fighting for his life from cancer, His wife took care of him and sometimes had to force him to eat and drink to survive. Thankfully Titsu survived. Titsu and his wife then moved on to have two children together, an elder daughter and a younger son. The girl's name was Coriana and the boy's name was Sabin,
Titsu's job at this time was a mechanical engineer and he made plenty of money, nowadays his income would have been in the 500k area. He built his own company that made electrical things like TVs, radios, etc.
In 1979 he moved to America with his wife because his wife was dying and they were hoping that she would get better. Sadly, she didn’t make it and left Sabin all on his own. He moved back to England and began to focus more on his family.
Titsu was a wealthy man who didn’t tolerate idiots and got mad when people didn't understand concepts, but he cared for and deeply loved his family. He enjoyed Chess and things that required him to think. His favorite books were mystery and detective books and he enjoyed listening to structured classical music.
Titsu loved his job and kept working even on his deathbed. Sadly he died of Stomach cancer in 1995 at the age of 73. He was cremated and had a small funeral. He was an intelligent, clever, strict man who is deeply missed and treasured. His memory will always be remembered.
