James Henry Barton was born in 1911 in Lancashire, England He was my Great Grandfather on my Mum's side.
When James was 2 or 3, World War 1 started. He was sad and scared, his dad was in the war. He played Soccer - and he enjoyed playing outdoors. He went to school in England and later in his life he joined the Army. After the army he was both a Farmer and also an electrician like my Poppa.
James was married to nice woman named Nelly Swaresbrick. They had 3 kids Dave aka My poppa and Linda and Lesley they are twins. When my Great Grandfather was away my Popps raised them and they were always close until my Poppa passed away. They are still in contact and have always remained in the UK they have been to NZ 3 times to visit my Poppa. Unfortunately I have never met them as I was not born but I have spoken to them on the phone.
In 1945 James joined the World War like his dad he got the Burma star medal and the Bravery medal for saving someone life after the war he did Farming and Electrician James son Dave work in the navy after he did the lights in the tunnel close to the harbour Bridge.
In 1981 James passed away in Lancashire. He lived for 70 years. James helped out England in the war like his Dad. I did James because he is a big inspiration for me and for my family. I will remember James for helping people, saving someone's life and helping our family.
I was born at North Shore Hospital in Auckland on 19 September 2009. My Mum was born at Greenlane Hospital in Auckland and has lived her life in Auckland. She spent part of Her life before I was born travelling to different places overseas for her job.
