My Great Grandmother - Zhang Subi
By Carl Li
This Biography is about my Great Grandmother Zhang subi.
Intro and early life
Zhangsubi was born in Sichuan, China in October 1923. Her parents were Zhang mashi (Mother) and Zhang desheng (Father). She had no siblings. Her parents couldn't afford to let her go to school because at that time life was hard. It was very messy and hard to earn even a few yuan. Because at that time the governor took all the money away to build a park and left people and the military to have no money to earn or use on. For a while they ate only tree roots and grass roots. (it was disgusting but that was still food) But when things got better she and her family started eating extremely spicy food to get used to the taste.
Contributions
Her parents worked as agricultural machinery workers. (farms) She was a very loving and kind person. She loves to be with animals and she is very kind hearted. She loves to help other people out in whatever condition they are in. She likes cats and dogs. Mostly Dogs because they keep her company when she's feeling sad. I think that is why most of my family including my dad's part of the family likes cats and dogs.
Contributions
She soon got married to Tang Shengliang in 1950 when she was 27 years old and had their first daughter 3 years later in 1953. (That's my Grandmother)
When my grandmother got old enough for work she started going out to work leaving my mother at home so Zhang Subi had to stay home and keep my mother company and look after her and tell her stories and help with studies. I’m grateful for it because. If it weren't for her. I don't think I would be here writing this biography.
Conclusion
She passed away late in May 2003. My mother has gotten to know her for more than 26 years. I myself have never got to meet her but from the photographs I've seen. She is a very kind looking person. My Mother tells me stories about her and says she has lived through alot. I'm glad to write a biography about her. (even tho this is short)
