My Great Aunty Gaye was born on the 25th November 1944. When Gaye was young she grew up in Wellington with her family, brother and sister. At 16 she fell pregnant and had a baby. But had to give the baby up for adoption so she could finish school. Which she did.
Gaye Moved to Bali in her adulthood and contributed to teaching English over in there. She enjoyed working with the children over there so made it her lifelong passion teaching English. It made her feel fulfilled and happy.
Great Aunty Gaye lived in bali for 10 years but sadly she got cancer. After her diagnosis she decided to move back to New Zealand for her treatment. While she was living in New Zealand she tired to teach my sister and me Indonesian. I dont remember any of it now but thought that was pretty cool at the time.
After her cancer treament in New Zealand she decided to move to Australia. Unfortunatley she only lived a few months in Australia before passing away.
Great Aunty Gaye passed away around Easter time in 2019. I was eight years old and it had been a few years since I last saw her. My Mum had visted her early in the year for her last time. She was a great Aunty and someone you could always count on and talk to about anything.i was lucky to have my aunty gaye because she took me and my sister to rainbozend and she wach most off my soccer games
