Vangueria madagascariensis
Vangueria madagascariensis
The Vangueria madagascariensis is a strange, multi-stemmed deciduous shrub that can grow up to 10 metres high, though is most commonly 4-6 metres. In Kenya, it is mostly found in bush-lands, at forest margins, in riverine vegetation and in areas with high groundwater. This tree is frequently sourced for firewood, construction, and carvings. Some also enjoy its edible fruit. The Kikuyu word for the Vanguueria madagascariensis is Mubiru.
