Bersama abyssinica
Bersama abyssinica
The handsome Bersama abyssinica is quite variable by the plant. It is common in highlands and in farming, but must be managed well—the shade from this tree’s crown could prevent crops from growing, and it is poisonous to domestic animals. It is fairly common to see this tree, which the Kikuyu call Murumia andu, in central and western Kenya, particularly along banks, in wooded river valleys, on forest edges, and in open woodlands. The wood is not very durable but can still be used to produce stools, carvings, utensils, and beehives.
—
Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.
