Podocarpus iatifolius
Podocarpus iatifolius
The tall Podocarpus iatifolius is an evergreen tree found in upland forests of Mt. Kenya and the Tugen Hills. It can reach heights of up to 35 metres at full maturity, but most people find this tree to be most beautiful in its youth—it has bright, green, glossy leaves and a conical shape, often used as an ornamental. It does well in association with bamboo plants. Those who aren’t interested in using this tree as a beautiful decoration might find it useful as firewood, or source its roots for medicine.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Psalm 8:3-4
