Bersama abyssinica
Bersama abyssinica
The Bersama abyssinica is used in a host of settings, from medicinal purposes to landscaping. It typically reaches up to 12 metres in height, but exceptionally up to 25 metres. Even though all parts of this tree are classified poisonous, careful practitioners of folk medicine may prescribe critical doses of this plant to treat stomach disorders, rabies, cancer, malaria, and diabetes. Infusions of this tree’s parts may be drunk or even sniffed to treat illness. Known by its Kikuyu name Murumia andu, it may otherwise be used to build houses or as a substitute for soap.
