Albizia gummifera
Albizia gummifera
Reaching up to 30 meters in height, the deciduous Albizia gummifera makes a perfect shade tree for gardens and a variety of crops, including coffee, tea, and vanilla. It grows quickly, bearing pale pink-white flowers and shiny leaflets across its flattened, open crown. The Albizia gummifera, also known by its Kikuyu name Mururue, is harvested for local use as a food, medicine, and source of wood. Its bark is infused, pounded, or applied externally as a malaria treatment, headache remedy, or body wash, respectively. The roots and leaves can also be used to treat diarrhea, eye troubles, asthma, skin diseases, and sores—one treatment involves soaking the roots in water for ten minutes, then drinking the liquid to alleviate pain caused by sprains and sleeping sickness.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness! Let them rule over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the sky, over the livestock, over the whole earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the land.” God created humankind in His image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them. God blessed them and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the land, and conquer it. Rule over the fish of the sea, the flying creatures of the sky, and over every animal that crawls on the land.
