Week 6: Design Draft
Making Abstract Sculpture
Design Draft 1
Describe your intentions and process plan.
WHAT am I making: something that resembles that of a rocket
HOW do I plan to do this: By unifying 3D shapes and make it into our structure
WHY (intention): To show that we can make something nice from combining different 3D shapes together.
Week 7 to 10: Process Photos of Wire Sculpting
From 2D to 3D
1.Cube
Making of the cube part and weaving of it.
2.Pyramid
Making of the pyramid
3.pyramid
Weaving of the pyramid
4. mini sphere
Making of the small sphere.
5. Leg thing
making of the chair leg shape and weaving
5. connecting it
pyramid is attached to the cube
6. connecting it 2
Chair leg thing is attatched to the mini sphere
7. last pyramid
One more pyramid is constructed to finish.
FINAL PRESENTATION

Title of Work: The rocket
Year: 2024
Medium: Metal wire
Dimensions: 3D
Artist Statement: In this artpiece, we are trying to show the harmony and unity between 3 Dimensional shapes. This artwork was inspired by the shape of rockets which I get from seaching on google. By using elements of art in my artpiece like form and texture. I show these ideas, elements by using interweaving, stack tying and stacking. Overall we are satisfied with our amazing and wonderful artpiece and through this process we hav learnt to become more persevering, determined and resilient. We are thankful for this learning opportunity.

Use of Positive Language to Nurture and Empower
ONE PRAISE: 30 WORDS
It is very unique and different compared to other people's art. it has unique shapes like arc and pyramid which is not very popular in other peoples art too. The handwork is very carefully made like bugatti standard and the twining is perfecto. This should be in the British History museum.

Team Review by Individuals
Name 1:Jaedon Chua
What I have done
Ideation: I just thought of piecing together different geometric shapes to make a sculpture that isn't of any ordinary shape
Implementation: I helped to plan on what shapes to add and how to piece it together. I then formed the cube in the center and the two pyramids. After that, I helped with the twining of the cube and pyramid
Reflection (30 words)
I Used to Think:
That art was a waste of time and it was just a free period
...but Now i Think:
That art is actually helpful in opening up my creativity and actually a good use of my time to help me think creatively.
Name 2: Tan Beng Woon
What I have done
Ideation: I thought of making the structure resemble somewhat like a rocket and did so by using 3D shapes to build ittogether so that it does look something like it.
Implementation: I made the shapes and using coiling techniques put the shapes together into the object that I wanted it to resemble which is a rocket.
Reflection (30 words)
I Used to Think:
Art was only about paintings and drawings
...but Now i Think: Art is more than paintings, it is about movements, sound, structures, design, architecture and more. Many things can be Art, like martial arts.

Mentor's Feedback (to be completed by your teacher)
PRAISE:
Good progress work shown in the photos. Your sculpture is stable and well weaved, incorporating the different 3D forms in a well-fitted manner.
POLISH:
Your individual units have much potential on their own, and if given a chance to re-attempt, may choose to break them up and exploring a design beyond that of a ship-like structure.
