Soccer Noodle Tag by: Taunya Randolph and Julie Cunningham
If tagged with a noodle, students freeze with their legs wide so a friend can dribble a soccer ball through their legs. They should raise their hand to show their classmates that they are frozen.
Frozen kids can also hold a bear or a crab position to increase difficulty. Or give the children flexibility to choose a 3 point, 4 point, or 5 point bridge.
NOTE: After playing this with little kids, I made a rule that after you kick a ball in between a friend’s legs to unfreeze them, you need to leave the ball for someone else to play with and go find another ball.
Some of them are very used to soccer where you have to “steal” the ball, so it’s teaching them that we aren’t stealing the ball from others to be successful.
