I found this idea originally from Randy Spring on Twitter. I made my own Slide deck, so after a couple of minutes, we can move to the next slide for other movements. Since the Slide deck does load slowly as it's covered in GIFs, I am transferring the information here.
I have big foam dice now and the children take turns rolling and doing the movements across the mat but regular dice can work too. Children should decide before starting who gets to roll first, second, etc or they will argue about it. One person rolls and they all the people behind them do the same move across the mat. If everyone rolls and does their own move everytime individually, it slows everything down.
If your kiddos can’t handle taking turns and working independently, have one die that you roll and everyone does the same thing. Can be helpful with PreK and other young students who have trouble doing things alone.
Children should have appropriate spacing between each other when doing the skill so they don’t accidentally hurt each other.
If they are ready, kids could do an add on idea where they roll a die more than one time and practice connecting multiple skills together to form a routine.
