Snowman USA is a classic everyone is it tag game in my gym. All students have a fluff ball and can throw a fluff ball and hit anyone with it. When hit with a fluff ball, a child “melts down” into a snowman. Another student can’t get a melted snowman back up by tossing their ball at the snowman who catches it and tosses it back to the tosser.

If either person drops the ball, they have to start over.

A variation is Snowman USA “Teams.” Kids are assigned to a team and get the assigned colored fluff balls. Their goal is to work with their team to get other people from other teams “out” while rescuing those on their own team.

After the teacher stops to the round, those who are standing therefore they are still in the game walk to a wall and hold up their fluff ball so the teacher can count and see which of the 6 teams have the most people still left in the game.

What I love about the variation is that kids are motivated to help everyone on their team even if it’s someone who isn’t their friend so it helps all students feel included.
