Sneak Up Tag by: Me! @somespikeithot
Students can be in group sizes from 3-4+ but the bigger the group, the longer they wait to play.
Round 1- “Student A” stands on our black basketball line facing away from the group. “Student B” sneaks up to their friend at the blue volleyball line and says their name. “Student A” will turn and chase “Student B” back to their group line. Rotate through.
Round 2- “Student A” stands on our black basketball facing away from the group. “Student B” will run up and tap “Student A” on the shoulder. “Student A” will turn and chase “Student B” back to their group line.” Rotate through.
Round 2 is harder than round one because “Student B” has to physically get closer to “Student A” in order to touch them. (I’ll pose this as a question.)
Note: Remind students to run and chase in a straight pathway or they may run into another group that is also playing. Really stress and demonstrate this to younger students.
This is a nice way to encourage students to ask each other’s names. They can’t play round 1 if they don’t know their classmates names!
