Taggers are given noodles and have to stay on their "island" at all times.
The goal for the other student is to go touch the mat with their toe without being tagged by the tagger. If tagged, they look at my Tag Game/Exercise/Dance Slide Deck on the screen and choose an exercise or dance move.
A couple of notes after playing it the first time.
I eventually told the kids that they were not allowed to run across the mat. The only thing they should do is touch the mat.
The runners should touch a mat and move onto another mat immediately. They get the exercise by moving from place to place instead of staying at the same mat and tapping it over and over again like they are "tapping their toes" on the floor.
The number of mats you put down is critical. My kinder class of 60 kids was my first group to play it. We started off with 4 mats and quickly learned it wasn't enough because they were super crowded around the mats which we didn't want. I would aim for one mat for every 10 students that you have.
Some of the kids were getting mad because they were doing their exercise and then were immediately tagged again. I pointed out to them they shouldn't have been that close to the mat and that is on them.
