Hello Cardinal Families,
Happy Thursday! Thank you to everyone that came out to Cotton Patch for this month's Fellowship Night Fundraiser. Remember, this money will go towards costs for our Fall Festival.
As a reminder, regular attendance is a fundamental pillar of a successful education. It is a key determinant of a student's academic performance and future prospects. Consistent attendance not only allows students to grasp and master the curriculum effectively but also fosters essential life skills that will benefit them beyond the classroom.
Here are some compelling reasons why consistent attendance matters:
Academic Success: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well academically. Each day of instruction builds upon the previous one, and missing school can lead to gaps in a student's understanding of important concepts.
Social and Emotional Development: Regular attendance provides opportunities for students to interact with their peers, develop friendships, and build important social skills. It also contributes to a sense of belonging within the school community.
Accountability and Responsibility: Attending school instills a sense of responsibility in students. They learn to manage their time, follow routines, and complete assignments, which are essential life skills.
Preparation for the Future: Good attendance habits are a foundation for success in the workplace. Employers value employees who show up consistently and punctually. Building these habits in school sets students up for success in their future careers.
Access to Support: Regular attendance allows students to access support services, such as tutoring or counseling, when needed. It ensures that teachers and staff can identify and address any academic or personal challenges a student may be facing.
We understand that there may be occasional circumstances that require a student to miss school, such as illness or family emergencies. In such cases, please notify the school as soon as possible so that we can provide support for your child.
Thank you for your partnership in your child's education. Together, we can create an environment where each student can reach their full potential.

Did you know that reading for 20 minutes a day has major benefits??? Reading for 20 minutes a day can boost your mental health as well as help children improve their understanding and analytical skills.
CHIRPIE is challenging all of our Cardinal Families to get a family friendly book to read each night for at least 20 minutes. This can be done while preparing dinner, having dinner or getting ready for bed! Starting next Friday, CHIRPIE will ask you to post a family picture in the comments with the book you’ve been reading for the week! What book do you think CHIRPIE is going to read first?? 🤔📚📖

We are in week #3 and we are finally seeing some traction. Remember, our fundraiser ends on next Tuesday, 9/26. If you haven't yet set up your student's online account and need help, please reach out. Please remember, if students sell just one item, they should bring in their first voucher. If they sell 20 items, they should be bringing in 9 vouchers, not just the one "sold 20 items" voucher. As they sell the magic numbers on the vouchers, they should be bringing their tickets in. Tickets are collected each Tuesday & Thursday don't forget voucher's must be signed by a parent acknowledging that the student did sell the required number amount. The last day to turn in prize vouchers will be Thursday, September 28th. Our fundraiser can be done online or via the paper packet your student came home last week. Remember, students who sell 15 items or more will earn a limo pizza lunch! If you have any questions, please call LSC

September is Suicide Awareness & Prevention Month
The State of Texas has mandated school districts provide a comprehensive suicide prevention program at all public junior, middle and high schools (House Bill 1386/Suicide Prevention). This mandate requires prevention efforts with parents, staff members, and students. To proactively address these issues, Life School elementary counselors are offering age appropriate suicide prevention lessons on each campus. The lessons will be done in the classroom during guidance time with the counselor. These efforts will increase advocacy for students concerned about themselves or a friend and equips students with many other tools to combat suicide.
