Good afternoon Cardinal Families!
Thank you to everyone that came out to our Dunkin' to a Good Book Literacy Night. We had a wonderful night of fellowship! Please join us this week at our Chick-Fil-A Spirit night on Tuesday, March 5 th.
This week is the last week before Spring Break. Campus will be closed from March 8 through March 17th. Classes resume on March 18th.
Please make note that our scool calendar has been adjusted. April 5th will now be a school day for students due to the bad weather day we had in January. Additionally, April 8th (Solar Eclipse Day) is now a district Holiday for staff and students. Students will come to school on Friday, April 12th to make up the Solar Eclipse Day.

Please let me know if you have any questions. We are here to serve your family!
Enjoy your weekend,
Principal Villavaso
Thank you to all our families who joined us for our Dunkin' to a Good Book Literacy Night. If you missed this time, here is a link to resources to help support literacy!
Resources:
A weather make-up day has been added for Friday, April 5 due to the bad weather day on January 16. April 5th was previously designated as a staff development day and will now be a regular school day. Also, to limit disruptions related to the total solar eclipse, we have designated April 8 as a Student/Staff Holiday and Friday April 12 will be a regular school day. Please review the latest school calendar.
THIS TUESDAY, MARCH 5TH
Come out to support LSC at our LAST Chick-fil-A Spirit Night of the school year! Our staff will be there to celebrate with our students as we all get ready for a well deserved Spring Break! Looking forward to a great night!
Powerhouse is accepting new enrollments for the remainder of the Spring 2024 semester! From now until March 31st, if you are currently enrolled in Powerhouse and you refer a friend, you and your friend can get one week of free childcare! Check with your local campus Powerhouse Site Director for all the details! Visit https://www.phkidstx.com/ to enroll.
We’re committed to supporting all students' social-emotional behavioral (SEB) and LifeLeader development. Join us in supporting the growth by scanning the QR code for weekly conversation starters to reflect on SEB and LifeLeader skills with your child.
Is there a teacher or staff member you would like to nominate for what they do daily to exhibit our LifeLeader attributes or fulfill the LifeLeader Partnership Agreement?
Please submit your nominations by March 31st using this link: LifeLeader Nominations.
School Supplies for the 2024-2025 School Year is now on sale. Here is the link if you would like to get a jump start on preparing for the upcoming school year.
Thank you to those of you who came out to our Dunk'n to Reading Night this past Tuesday. We hope you enjoyed all the fun literacy activities along with some complementary coffee and hotcoco, brought to you by Dunkin Donuts. Thank you also for all our parents who came out to help with volunteering for Literacy Night and our Scholastic Bookfair ~ We couldn't do "Life" without you. This last week before Spring Break, we have our last Chick-fil-A night of the school year. Please join us this Tuesday for some great family time and some yummy food. Well, Spring is in the air and so are many other things here at LSC.
As we prepare for Spring Break, please help support our focus on academic success by encouraging your child to be on their best behavior this week and work for a Positive Office Referral. As mentioned last week, behavior has been quiet a challenge and I'd much rather celebrate a student for a Positive Office Referral than a discipline referral. Any support or encouragement you can send from home would be greatly appreciated.
As we get ready to start wrapping up the last 9 weeks of school, please remember, our 2023-2024 yearbooks are on sale and have almost run out. If not, don't wait, they will sell out! Please scan the QR Code below or CLICK HERE before it's too late. Lastly, if you haven't yet become an LSC Fan on Galaxy Digital, please CLICK HERE so you can keep up with all the events and activities on campus.
Happy weekend & remember here at Life School Carrollton, we CHIRP!!
Mrs. Merry

Life School is excited to announce our 25 Years of Life Celebration…and you are invited! Hosted at UNT-Dallas Campus on Thursday, April 18th, the evening will begin with a pre-dinner reception filled with live music performed by current Life School students, and student artwork will be on display. Following dinner, we will honor outstanding parents, alumni, and community partners who have supported Life School throughout the years. Make plans now to attend! Click here to get your tickets or become a sponsor!
Congrats to our 6th Grade Team for having 98% attendance last week. They have won either a popcorn party or extra recess, their choice!! Who is going to win this week?
Studies show how critical it is for students to be at school everyday, all day, all the way! To help support our LSC attendance, we are going to host a weekly competition. The class with the highest attendance percentage each week will earn either extra recess or a class popcorn party. Please make sure to help your student's class be the top class by making attendance a priority.
Benefits of Nature
Spring is almost here, and the great outdoors is the place to be! Just 30 minutes per day outdoors can make a big difference. Spending time in nature has many benefits for kids and adults. Being outdoors helps physical health,
academic competency, and mental health. Below are some of the benefits of spending time outdoors:
Increased bone health (due to Vitamin D)
Reduced anxiety
Reduced stress
Minimizes issues related to diabetes and heart disease
