A message from Principal Villavaso

Good afternoon Cardinal Families!

This upcoming week, students will attend Monday through Friday! As a reminder, a weather make-up day has been added for Friday, April 5, due to the bad weather day on January 16. April 5th was previously designated as a staff development day and will now be a regular school day for students.

Also, to limit disruptions related to the total solar eclipse, we have designated Monday, April 8, as a Student/Staff Holiday (No School on Monday, April 8) and Friday April 12 will be a regular school day. Please review the latest school calendar.

We cherish the opportunity to be a part of your family's journey, and we're grateful for the trust you place in us every day. Our commitment to providing a nurturing, supportive, and enriching environment for your children remains unwavering.

As we celebrate this special holiday this weekend, let us also take time to reflect on the values of love, compassion, and unity that Easter represents. May your hearts be filled with happiness, and may you create beautiful memories with your loved ones.

Thank you so much to all our Partners for Life who came out to Wednesday's meeting. I'm so appreciative for all your dedication and hard work on behalf of our students and staff this year. Thank you so much! As we enter into April and May we have some many different volunteer opportunities and we would love to see you on campus. Life School 25 Years of Life Celebration

Life School is excited to announce our 25 Years of Life Celebration…and you are invited! Hosted at UNT-Dallas Campus on Thursday, April 18th, the evening will begin with a pre-dinner reception filled with live music performed by current Life School students, and student artwork will be on display. Following dinner, we will honor outstanding parents, alumni, and community partners who have supported Life School throughout the years. Make plans now to attend! LSC - Parent / Guardian Request Center

Per the Life School Handbook, parents are required to inform the school on any important changes such as a new phone number, home address, email address, etc. Parents are also required to submit a written request for their students records. Please fill out the form in its entirety. Mr. Perry will then call to verify the request. Once verified, the request will get fulfilled within 24-48 business hours. Contact Mr. Perry with any questions.

Autism Awareness Day: April 2nd

Below are some potential Autism Strengths:

Integrity- People with Autism are more likely to make consistent choices that align with their values.
Expertise and Mastery- Those with Autism are often experts at their special interests which can increase "a sense of wellbeing, facilitate social connection... and strengthen academic skills."
Sensory- People with Autism are more likely to have a perfect pitch, recognize sounds that are mixed together, and excel at visual search tasks.
