Hello Cardinal Families,
As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for being a valued part of our school community. This time of year provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the blessings that surround us and to appreciate the sense of unity and togetherness that defines our Life School Carrollton family.
Our students have been a constant source of inspiration, and their growth and achievements fill us with pride. Your support and involvement in their education make a significant impact on their journey, and for that, we are truly thankful.
This Thanksgiving, I encourage you to take a moment to cherish the warmth of family, the joy of friendship, and the abundance of love that surrounds you. May your homes be filled with laughter, delicious aromas, and the comfort of shared moments with loved ones.
Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of being a part of your child's educational journey. May your Thanksgiving be filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys that make life truly special.
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration and a rejuvenating break.

Please take some time over Thanksgiving Break to wash your child's backpack, lunchbox, and jackets. These items can get dirty and breaks are a great time to give them a good wash! Help us reduce the spread of germs!
We are excited to announce that for the first time ever we are having a campus Spelling Bee. Winners will advance to Regionals (and then possibly Washington DC for the final competition-all expenses paid). Here are the spelling lists if you would like to help your child prepare for the campus competition.
Congrats to our 4th Grade Team for having 98% attendance last week. They have won either a popcorn party or extra recess, their choice!! Who is going to win this week?
Studies show how critical it is for students to be at school everyday, all day, all the way! To help support our LSC attendance, we are going to host a weekly competition. The class with the highest attendance percentage each week will earn either extra recess or a class popcorn party. Please make sure to help your student's class be the top class by making attendance a priority.
Happy Thanksgiving Break! I am hoping that your time with your family is filled with memories and moments of thankfulness. I would like to thank so many of your for all you do for LSC and especially for coming our this week to BJ's Restaurant to support Life School Carrollton. I know it was a little under 6 miles from our campus, so a bit of a drive, but so many of you showed up. Thank you! I can't wait to see our results and see if we made enough to purchase our life size Cardinal mascot costume (aka Chirpie). Our next community spirit night is Tuesday, December 19th at Chick-fil-A and in January we will be Urban Air Adventure Park - the students are going to LOVE this place!! Mark your calendars for January 9th!
Our next Partners for Life Meeting will be the Thursday we return from break. Please join us November 30th @ 4:15PM and we will be working on Christmas campus events, campus needs for January thru March, and field trips for students. If you are a room parent/room guardian please attend this meeting. For our Partners for Life Leadership, or just want to be more active in your student's education, please join us.
Discipline has been a bit of a challenge this last month and we are seeing an uprising of students feeling like they need to 'one-up' another students negative action, instead of taking the high road or following the Golden Rule. We are also seeing an uptick of students making derogatory comments about race and culture. I am asking you, as parents/guardians, to please help us help our students by having those important conversations. We want our Cardinals to exhibit LifeLeader attributes and none of these exemplify those traits.
In closing, we are so close to making our 2023/2024 district goal for Galaxy Digital. We are 9 fans short, we had 1 new fan add this week! If you haven't yet signed up as a "Fan" of Life School Carrollton on Galaxy Digital, WE NEED YOU! Please click: Fan of LSC.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to click here Email Mrs. Merry Thank you, as always, for being a Partner for Life in your students education! Mrs. Merry
The 2023-24 Student Handbook has undergone recent updates to reflect legislative changes. These revisions were approved by the Life School Board of Directors on September 20, 2023. Click here to see the letter to parents.
Create a Gratitude Jar
Creating a gratitude jar is a wonderful and simple activity that encourages children to reflect on and appreciate the positive aspects of their lives. Here are step-by-step instructions for creating a gratitude jar:
**Materials Needed:**
1. A clean, clear jar with a lid (Mason jars work well).
2. Decorative materials (optional): colorful paper, markers, stickers, ribbon, etc.
3. Small pieces of paper or sticky notes.
4. Writing utensils (pens or markers).
**Instructions:**
1. Choose Your Jar:
- Select a jar and if desired decorate it with ribbon, stickers, or paint.
2. Cut Paper Strips:
- Cut small pieces of paper or use sticky notes. Ensure they are small enough to fit comfortably into the jar.
3. Introduce the Concept of Gratitude:
- Explain that gratitude is being thankful and appreciating something or someone. The purpose of the jar is to capture moments of thankfulness and appreciation in our lives.
4. Write:
- Provide optional writing prompts to guide their expressions of gratitude. For example:
- "What made you smile today?"
- "An act of kindness you witnessed or experienced."
- "Something you accomplished or learned."
5. Reflection:
- Set aside time periodically to open the jar and read the notes. This can be a personal reflection or a shared activity with family or friends.
Creating a gratitude jar is a simple yet powerful way to cultivate a positive mindset and enhance overall well-being. It serves as a tangible reminder of the many reasons there are to be grateful.
When you are ready for life, you focus on a particular goal and the task that is needed to achieve that goal. You think about who you want to be, what you want to be known for, what is meaningful to you, and what you can achieve. You are always thinking about what steps you can take to get you closer to your end goal. By doing these things, you are using the LifeLeader attribute, GOAL-ORIENTED.
