Zebra class went fishing for different letters in their water play whilst in outdoor learning. This was linked to our line of inquiry about looking after animals and removing plastic from the sea.

Whilst learning about looking after the world and each other, we read the book "The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch". We created our own lighthouses using the patterns of red and white. We use a mixture of gross and fine motor skills and colour recognition.

As part of our learning out in Forest school, we have been engaging in different types of play. We have been learning to share spaces with other children and engage with them in activities.

Whilst reading the story 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' we have been learning about helping others. As part of this, we made a desert for the lighthouse keeper using jelly, cream and biscuits. We used crushing and sprinkling to create this into a sensory experience.

Zebra class were lucky to take part in learning how to use the balance bikes. The children engaged with different adults and children whilst riding their balance bikes around the Phase 1 playground. We learnt to share space with others and take turns.

As part of our learning about VE day, we used our emotions and the colours of red and blue whilst listening to music from the 1940s. We used our fine and gross motor skills to create marks on paper.

As part of our circle time, we learn about the different days of the week and different greetings. We use a range of sensory experiences such as 'Spiky Wednesday' discs so the children associate a touch sense to the day of the week.

When learning about the life cycles of a frog we explored a tuff tray with 'Frogspawn', tadpoles and frogs in it. We caught the frogs and used it as a sensory exerience.

Whilst continuing our learning about the life cycles of frogs, we identified the different colours in frogs and frogspawn and selected the colours to colour in the frog spawn.
As part of our 'Inquiry Learning' we have been learning about life cycles. We have read the book 'The Ugly Duckling' and have been learning about the life cycle of birds.

As part of our 'Life Cycles' line of inquiry, we have been creating our own eggs to show the beginning of the life cycle of a bird.

It was World Book Day this week and we have been focusing on the story 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' for it!
