Bear Class 2023-2024
Welcome back to Module 5, we hope you had a great Easter break! This term we look forward to continuing to work towards our transdisciplinary theme 'Where we are in Place and Time'. We will be exploring Kirsty's garden and where food comes from, old and new seasides, symbols within Christianity, and dance in PE. As well as continuing to work towards our ILP Maths, English and PSPD targets everyday.
LO: I can begin to explore a variety of exotic fruits in cookery.
LO: I can use various tools to mark make in sensory media.
LO: I will be able to trace the first 5 letters in set 1 RWI.
LO: I can transition to a new environment with verbal and gestural prompting and begin to partiicipate in the daily mile.
L.O. I will be able to complete one maths activity focusing on numbers up to 5 at my workstation with gestural and verbal prompting.
LO: I can make marks using my preferred writing method.
I can listen to an adult read a short story and interact with a with the story by finding the animals on a charting sheet on request.
LO: I can engage in an outside learning activity and share my space with my peers.
LO: I can begin to show anticipation when engaging in a ready steady go activity.

Module 4:
Welcome back to module 4. Our transdisciplinary theme this term is 'Where we are in place and time'. As a class we will be focusing on 'Exploring physical features' oceans in geography, food, drink and exercise in science, and Christianity & Judaism in RE. All of the students are excited to be exploring movement in PE as we are using different parts of our bodies to move balloons. So a busy term ahead for all the students in Bear class!
Module 3:
Welcome back and a very Happy New Year!
Bear class are excited to be back at school after the holidays. All students have settled back into the class routines. The term has been a busy one and the students have enjoyed exploring root vegetables in cooking and preapring simple recipes using various tools. As a class the students have also been learning about animal habitats and where humans choose to live. Students also enjoyed a stay and play afternoon.

Module 2:
Welcome back to module 2 a time for celebrations!
Module 2 has seen Bear class students come back ready to learn. They have all settled well back into the class routines and are displaying signs of greater independence. This module is going to be a busy one as we prepare for our Nativity and end of term Christmas party.
This module Bear class have been learning how to care for small pets and animals through multisensory activities. This has been something they have all enjoyed. We have also been learning about Piet Mondrian in art and the students have had opportunities to make their own piece of artwork. In cooking the students have been exploring 'Foods for celebration' using their senses. It has been a really busy module so far!
We look forward to celebrating more achievements this term!

Module 1:
It has been a very busy start to term 1 in Bear class. All of the children have settled well into their new environment. They have all responded well to the new structure and are beginning to make meaningful relationships with their peers and the adults in class. We have been focusing on our transdisciplinary theme and 'Who we are' and all children have been enjoying visiting the teepees weekly to participate in a whole phase enquiry morning. This has really been successful. The children have also been working hard during work sessions and this is evident in the pictures below.
We are all very proud of the way you have embraced the start o f the new school year. Well done !
