Lion

Module 2

Module 2 has flown by in Lion class and we have been extremely busy working hard on our individual learning plans and our Phase one production.

In Science we have explored hot and cold, the day we explored cold was perfect as it was snowing. We had to find the clothes that we needed to keep us warm. Our Horticulture teacher has helped us look at the different seasons and we enjoyed the autumnal coloured leaves.

We also accessed the local supermarket for community participation and we enjoyed a biscuit in the cafe.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year from Lion class.

Module 3

This term the theme has been "The Wild, Wild West"

We went on an adventure to Mexico and explored how Cowboys and Cowgirls would have lived.
The Cowboy chili was really fun to make and very messy.

Community participation

We have been using our money skills to purchase snacks at the local supermarket canteen.

Food Tech

We made some lovely Valentine biscuits

Module 4

Our Theme is "Let's go on an Adventure"

Lion class have been exploring the story of “We’re Going on Bear Hunt ", we linked all our topics to the story. In Art we made maps for our journey using tea bags and cotton wool, in Science we created mud to explore the processes and mixing materials. Our English has involved using the resonance board to recreate the story and engage in the repeated refrains. Bears have been counted for Maths and we even explored what bears like to eat.

We explored all the sensory items from the story

Our new PE lessons have helped develop our gross motor skills and our PSED targets .

We have been visiting our school garden to care for our plants.

We even made some amazing smoothies and milked a cow !

Module 5

PYP Theme: Sharing the planet

Feathers, Fur, Claws and Scales !

Lion Class have continued to work extremely hard on their individual learning targets. We have been developing our self-help skills by tidying up after our snack and lunch. We are becoming responsible for our possessions and starting to transition independently around the school. We have worked on ball skills in PE.

Our story this term has been all about looking after a Dinosaur - feeding our dinosaurs and washing them has been great fun. We have also been learning about the importance of recycling and made a lovely collage using recycling materials.
